PART OF A GREATER COMMUNITY

Land Acknowledgement
Snovalley Pride makes its home in Carnation, Washington, on the ancestral lands of the Coast Salish peoples. We recognize the Snoqualmie Tribe as the original and continuing stewards of this Valley, with deep connections to the Tolt and Snoqualmie Rivers, the mountains, forests, and lands that surround us.
This land remains the sacred homeland of the Snoqualmie people. We are grateful to gather here, build community, and find belonging in a place they have cared for across generations.
We acknowledge the violence of colonization, including genocide, displacement, and forced assimilation, and the harm that continues today. We honor Indigenous people’s resilience and their ongoing work to protect their cultures, languages, communities, and sovereignty.
As a 2SLGBTQ+ organization, we hold a special place in our hearts and our community for Two Spirit and queer Indigenous people. They have always been here. We celebrate their lives, honor their stories, and recognize their right to live openly, safely, and joyfully, with a strong sense of belonging.
We thank the Snoqualmie Tribe and the Indigenous caretakers who continue to protect the waters, forests, and cultural traditions that sustain this place we call home. Their care reminds us that belonging comes with responsibility to the land and to one another.
At Snovalley Pride, kindness is our campfire. We commit to carrying that kindness into action by listening to Indigenous voices, respecting tribal sovereignty, caring for the land, and standing alongside Indigenous communities, especially our Two Spirit kin. Together, we work toward a future where every person can belong, be celebrated, and thrive.
