PART OF A GREATER COMMUNITY

Snovalley Pride is based in Carnation, Washington, on the ancestral lands of the Coast Salish peoples, with specific recognition of the Snoqualmie Tribe, the original stewards of this valley. Since the beginning, the Snoqualmie people have lived in deep connection with the confluence of the Tolt and Snoqualmie Rivers, the mountains, forests, and farmland that surround us today.

We acknowledge that this land is still the sacred and sovereign homeland of the Snoqualmie people.
We honor the painful legacy of colonization — including genocide, displacement, and forced assimilation — that sought to erase Indigenous lives, cultures, and identities.

We lift up the Two Spirit and queer Indigenous people — past, present, and future — who have always existed, and are here on this land today. Their stories are rooted in strength, in ceremony, in fluidity, in deep knowing and belonging. Their existence is not new — it is ancestral, it is powerful, and it deserves celebration and recognition.

We honor the spiritual and physical caretakers of this land who continue to protect the waters, forests, and traditions that sustain all of us. We express gratitude to the Snoqualmie Tribe and all Indigenous Nations who maintain cultural and ecological knowledge that continues to guide us toward healing.

As a queer organization, we commit to listening deeply, acting responsibly, and standing in solidarity with Indigenous people — especially our Two Spirit kin — in our shared work toward justice, equity, liberation, and the right to thrive.
