Rooted in This Valley. Guided by Kindness.

Our Mission & Beliefs

Snovalley Pride believes 2SLGBTQ+ people should not have to leave their hometowns to find safety, community, or Pride.

We are building a Snoqualmie Valley where people of every identity, age, and background can feel seen, supported, celebrated, and proud to call this beautiful place home.

Our Mission

Our mission is to uplift and celebrate the 2SLGBTQ+ community and queer culture through advocacy, connection, joyful visibility, and the healing power of the arts rooted in the Snoqualmie Valley.

We create welcoming spaces where people can gather, build friendships, share their stories, express themselves, find support, and experience belonging. Through live music, art, film, and creative expression, we bring people together, honor the richness of queer culture, and celebrate the voices and experiences that make our community beautiful.

Because when people know they are valued exactly as they are, individuals grow stronger, families feel supported, and entire communities become kinder.

We are not simply creating Pride in the Valley. We are helping create a Valley where everyone can thrive.

WE HAVE ALWAYS BEEN HERE

We Come From the Sunrise & Sunset

Humanity has always been more expansive than the boxes we create. Across generations, people have expressed gender, love, and identity in many ways, reminding us that there is no single way to be fully ourselves.

We believe the spirit of our queer community comes from the same place as the sunrise and sunset: moments that are neither fully day nor fully night, but something breathtaking that exists in the space between.

Some of us feel at home in masculinity or femininity. Some live between genders, beyond them, or experience identity in ways entirely their own. Our community holds many ways of loving, living, and expressing who we are. Each deserves respect, belonging, and room to shine.

There is beauty in that diversity.
It is a gift we share with the world.

2SLGBTQ+ people have always been part of the human story. We have loved, created, cared for our neighbors, and helped shape the places we call home. At Snovalley Pride, we celebrate the differences that make our communities richer, more creative, and more alive.

In a world where fear, division, and demands for conformity can make people feel small, creating spaces rooted in kindness, creativity, connection, and safety becomes an act of courage. It becomes an act of hope. It reminds us that we can build communities where people are welcomed and valued exactly as they are.

Snovalley Pride will always strive to make that way of living a reality here in the Snoqualmie Valley.

WHAT GUIDES US

Our Values

Our values are the heart of everything we do. They guide how we gather, how we lead, how we care for one another, and how we create change. Rooted in kindness and shaped by our community, they reflect the kind of Snoqualmie Valley we are working together to build.

Kindness

Kindness is our campfire.

It is where we begin and where we return. We believe kindness is more than being pleasant. It means seeing one another clearly, listening with care, standing up when someone is being harmed, and helping every person know they matter.

Joyful Visibility

Being seen can be powerful. Being celebrated can be life changing.

We bring Pride into our parks, theaters, farms, businesses, and gathering places because queer joy belongs everywhere. Our visibility tells people of every age, especially young people, that they are not alone and that their lives are worthy of celebration.

Courageous Advocacy

Kindness also requires courage.

We speak up for the dignity, safety, and rights of 2SLGBTQ+ people, with an unwavering commitment to transgender, nonbinary, Two Spirit, and queer youth. We believe advocacy can be bold, compassionate, creative, and deeply rooted in love.

Healing Through Art

Art helps us understand ourselves and one another.

Film, music, writing, storytelling, movement, and visual art give us ways to process what we have experienced, reclaim our voices, and imagine what is possible. We create opportunities for 2SLGBTQ+ artists and community members to share their truth and add more beauty to the world.

Shared Stewardship

This work belongs to all of us.

We value collaboration, community wisdom, transparency, and shared responsibility. We listen to the people most affected by our work and strive to lead in ways that reflect the equitable, caring community we want to create.

Rooted in Place

Our work is shaped by the Snoqualmie Valley and the people who call it home.

We honor the communities, relationships, rivers, forests, mountains, and histories that make this place what it is. We believe rural communities can be places where 2SLGBTQ+ people do more than survive. They can be places where we belong, lead, create, and thrive.

OUR PROMISE

The Valley We Are Creating Together

We believe another kind of future is possible.

A future where a queer young person sees possibility in the place they call home. Where transgender and nonbinary people know their community will stand beside them. Where families find understanding, artists find a stage, neighbors become friends, and Pride is visible in every part of the Valley.

That future is already beginning to take shape.

It is present whenever we gather, create, speak up, care for one another, and choose kindness. It lives in every person who helps someone else feel seen, valued, and loved. Together, we are creating a Snoqualmie Valley where everyone belongs.

The campfire is lit. Come gather with us.
